softball score

Honestly, until LPD teams start playing tougher schedules. They are not going to be in the same league as Va High. Next year, Va. High only looses 2 players. But it really wont make a diference in how they play. Their freshman class this year has made the difference. They have a freshman pitcher that has not allowed an earned run this year playing SW. Va. schools. She has had only 1 earned run scored on her this entire season and a total of 3 runs scored overall. Combine her and Campbell . Tell me which LPD pitcher could have those stats playing Tazewell, Abingdon, John Battle, Maryville Tn, Knox Karns, Tennessee High, Unicoi County, Elizabethon and a couple of teams from New York, South Carolina? There isnt a team in SW Va. next year that will be able to compete with them.

Well I guess we will have to wait until next year to see won't we? Most of the girls that are freshman for PV and the girls that are coming up next year, all play travel softball all summer. They play teams from GA, TN, SC, and many other places. You aren't going to see the same type of player's PV has had for the past few years. Next years team will be a huge improvement to the freshman and sophmore group they have now. I'm guessing at least 6 or 7 of PV's starting Varsity player's next year all play on travel teams too and that includes both pitchers. I'm not saying we are going to be the best or anything like that, but we aren't what you seem to think we are.

Well, since Battle and Va High is loaded, I guess everyone should just feel defeated now and forget about playin next season...lol...who cares who's loaded...don't mean shiz unless it translates to championships...some of the talk on here sometimes is so asinine...and I don't even keep up with softball.

If that's the route you want to go, then maybe everyone should just lay down and quit because PV will be "loaded" next year. Loaded with these fantastic upcoming freshman who many have yet to see, and who have yet to play an inning.

Seriously though, I never said there wasn't anyway anyone else could beat them. I just think they'll be the favorites to win the Region and probably will....Wow, shocking!!!

Just like players who are great at levels below high school don't mean "shiz" unless it translates to the next level, right?

It's just like most probably believe PV will beat Lee in football. So? What if I think they probably will too? Lets say I'm basing it all on what the teams have returning and past success and so on. Don't think there's anything in there that says Lee can't win or that they should give up and not even try.

Only just an opinion though. Nothing to go crazy over. They've had no problems with the these teams in the past, they didn't have any trouble this year, they will have most of the players back, and I just don't see it being any different. Is that such a problem? So what if they do lose? OH NO...it's the end of the world I guess. No, then you'd be right, big deal. I hope they actually do compete well and that they do beat Va High, John Battle, or whoever else. Nothing here worth getting all worked up over.

No problem, I just saw the reply indicated it was to me. Besides, I think I was the one who got a little worked up after all that anyway.

Havent they been doing that already? Look, it a plain cold heart fact..... Va High is king in softball. LPD teams have had 2 opportunities to play them this year and both times the LPD teams came away with being shutout. GC has played Va HIgh many times in the past and have yet to beat them.
As for LL..... Who cares. LL is rec ball and you cant tell what team is going to be good b/c of LL.
The team of the future in the LPD is Coeburn. The high school coach is working with a group of young s that will feed that program and in my opinion the LPD pitcher of the year ( Hannah Light). I will be shocked if she is not picked.
As for the PV s playing travel ball..... They have played travel ball the last 2 years and they still cant beat GC. SO how do you expect to compete with a dynasty like Va High?

PV beat GC 2 out of 3 games this year and as far as you talking about LL... I don't know where that came from because I didn't mention anything about LL. As far as Coeburn being the team of the LPD.. They won't be in the LPD next year. I believe they are moving to the Cumberland district.

When I was talking about travel ball... I didn't mean that little bit of travel ball PV does in the summer. I meant that 6 or 7 of the girls that will be playing Varsity next year play on travel teams all summer long. They aren't on the same travel team. Some of them play with Natco and some play with Xplosion and the Lady bugs. I just meant they play TRAVEL ball, not neccesarily together.
